Top 10 Richest NFL Teams in 2023

What do the richest NFL teams all have in common? They have NFL owners that are loaded with money and dominate the list of the most popular teams in the NFL.

Does your team make the list? Lets take a look at the top ten most valuable NFL franchises:

10. Philadelphia Eagles ($5.8 Billion)

One of the oldest teams in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles last won a Super Bowl in 2017 and found a new wave of popularity after a 57-year championship drought.

Since 2003 the Eagles have played their home games at Lincoln Financial Field and with a net worth of $3.8 billion, the Eagles are one of the richest NFL teams. As a result they can also afford some of the craziest contract extensions, like the extension of Jalen Hurts.

9. San Francisco 49ers ($6 Billion)

The 49ers are one of the biggest and most successful teams in the NFC. With five Super Bowl titles to their name the San Francisco franchise has earned a legion of fans over the years.

Superstar quarterback Joe Montana and Steve Young drew a generation of fans to the 49ers, and many years later they remain one of the richest NFL teams with a net worth of $6 billion.

8. Washington Commanders ($6.05 Billion)

Controversial former owner Dan Snyder sold the Commanders for $6.05 billion in 2023 to a group led by Josh Harris. It was the highest price ever for a sports team.

Harris has a big task ahead of him to turn around the culture of the Commanders, as well as find a stadium solution for the 62,000-seat FedExField which is falling apart. Many Washington fans can’t even stand the Commanders name, so did Harris overpay for the franchise?

7. New York Jets ($6.1 Billion)

The Jets are worth $6.1 billion thanks largely to the size of the New York market. With such exposure and resources, they splashed the cash on Aaron Rodgers but we all know how his 2023 season went.

The last time the Jets won a Super Bowl was in 1969 under legendary quarterback Joe Namath, and they’ll be looking to end a postseason drought that extends back to 2010.

6. Las Vegas Raiders ($6.2 Billion)

The Raiders are among the most hated NFL teams no doubt because of an intimidating fan base. Raider Nation is what makes the franchise one of the richest NFL teams with a net worth of $6.2 billion. Their move to Vegas was controversial to say the least but reportedly, Raiders fans are the most loyal, although that will always be up for debate.

5. Chicago Bears ($6.3 Billion)

The Chicago Bears were one of the NFL’s founding members in 1920. Fans will revel in the fact they’re worth more than their biggest NFL rivals the Green Bay Packers. Historically the Bears have been successful with eight NFL championships and a Super Bowl title, but the $6.3 billion value of the franchise doesn’t help a championship drought dating back to 1986.

4. New York Giants ($6.8 Billion)

The New York Giants were established in 1925 and are based at MetLife Stadium, the biggest stadium in the NFL. In the biggest media market in America, there is room in New York for both the Giants and Jets.

Over the years players like Lawrence Taylor, Michael Strahan and Eli Manning have lit up the “Big Apple” and helped create one of the richest NFL teams. Worth $6.8 billion, the Giants last won a Super Bowl in 2012 and will be looking for a return to the glory days.

3. Los Angeles Rams ($6.9 Billion)

The Rams are one of the most valuable sports teams in the world and are valued at $6.9 billion. When the franchise moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles, they moved into the best NFL stadium and became just the second team ever to win the Super Bowl at home in 2022.

Team owner Stan Kroenke also owns the Colorado Rapids and Arsenal FC, and had to cede control of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche to his son in order to own the Rams. Kroenke also owns the Colorado Rapids and Arsenal FC.

2. New England Patriots ($7 Billion)

The Patriots play their home games at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and are one of the most successful NFL teams, with the Brady-Belichick guiding the Patriots to six Super Bowls in 18 seasons.

With a Patriots franchise worth $7 billion and a personal fortune worth over $11 billion, owner Robert Kraft is a lot richer thanks to the Brady-Belichick combination.

1. Dallas Cowboys ($9 Billion)

Despite a Super Bowl title drought that dates back to nearly three decades, the Cowboys remain the richest team in the NFL. Based in Dallas-Fort Worth, the NFC East heavyweights are owned by Jerry Jones and are also the most popular team in the league.

Dallas has won five Super Bowls in eight appearances, including three in a four year stretch from 1992 through 1995, which helped lay the foundation to what they are today.
